I consistently find myself saying, “I should write up a new blog post”, but am constantly struggling to find things to write about, as I can only provide so many of the routine training updates without boring myself. I decided it would be fun to try something new; I want to share some insight into one of my biggest passions, which is music. Those that know me well know that my world does not exist without music. In fact, many of my teammates like to tell me I’m a music snob. Simply put, I just love music. I love listening to it, experiencing it, sharing it, and finding new records.
There was no shortage of music in the Bohonnon house growing up. Both my parents listened to the full spectrum of what we’d all classify as classic tunes from the likes of Steely Dan, Earth Wind and Fire, James Taylor, Marvin Gaye, The Rolling Stones, and so on and so on. I was even fortunate enough to experience some unbelievable shows at a young age – The Stones circa ’06 included. All these artists shaped my musical taste, giving me an appreciation for classics while simultaneously having an ear for something new and fresh.
It is safe to say that I have an unbelievably odd taste in music, as I find myself listening to Van Morrison one minute and Eminem the next – there’s a place and an ear for all of it. Though, before I go too far out to left field with my passion for a variety of artists, I want to share a list of ten albums; five of which I’ve recently discovered and can’t stop playing, and five more that are amongst my favorites of all time.
